Suffolk County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Wyandanch resident Kamar Harris, 23, shortly after 9 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 28, for third-degree unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and failure to surrender his suspended learner’s permit, when she attempted to visit an inmate at the jail.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, Harris was busted as he attempted to enter the Riverhead County Correctional Facility Security Booth Checkpoint to visit an inmate while using an expired New York State learner’s permit while there were no other validly licensed drivers in the vehicle. A DMV computer check found that her learner’s permit was suspended a total of five times for various offenses.
Harris was arrested and charged by the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office. No return court date has been announced.
